Святой Архангел Михаил — главный архангел, являющийся одним из самых почитаемых Архангелов в таких религиях как христианство, иудаизм и ислам. В православии его называют Архистратигом, что означает глава святого воинства Ангелов и Архангелов. Тип изображения традиционен для живописи середины XV века и следует иконографии аналогичной деисусной иконы из Благовещенского собора Московского Кремля. Архангел облачен в красный плащ и синий далматик.
